So the nice people over at our favourite camera spot Kameraz is sponsoring us some rad photo equipment! Kitty will be making use of a few lenses, SIGMA 70 - 200mm/2.8 HSM and the SIGMA 17-35mm/2.8 - 4.
We love them cos they stock a heck of a lot of stuff, are always very helpful and generally just a super awesome bunch of humans.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF RALLY
This past Sunday (and possibly the coldest day EVER), one of the Team OK GO members decided to brave the freezing cold at 6am and venture into the cloud of dust that was the Gauteng Toyota Dealer Rally at Rallystar in Bapsfontein and then at Zwartkops.
This was a whole other kind of rallying. Dust everywhere, cars so loud they could have burst an ear drum if they were too close, the freezing wind, the warm sun (when the wind died down) and hot chocolate to warm the hands. An all girl rally team (in a Toyota...just like Team OK GO!) And so much fun.
A big thank you to Dannon Partridge for the awesome photos.
5 days and counting :)

HERE TO MAKE US SMILE :)
So today we picked up our shiny new Toyota Etios! She has a spacious boot and a spare tyre and power steering and a fancy radio and places to sit and a glove compartment and indicators and a windscreen wiper and airbags and aircon and 7 cup holders. Who needs 7 cupholders?! WE DO! We love her. And she needs a name. Watch this space!

FUNDRAISER ART EXHIBITION
Yay!
17 original artworks sold. A giant thank-a-yoo to Seb at Motherland Coffee Co, for our epic venue and free java all night (Kat on caffeine, something Team OK GO still need to get used to..), Gil Hockman who played us a beardy-sexy-mellow James Tayloresque set, Carly Whitaker who kindly curated and managed the exhibition (and clipboard) with such style and finesse, to our buyers, friends and family who came along, and finally (and perhaps most importantly) to all our artists who donated their art and soul to the cause, we literally couldn't have done it without you!
We had an awesome night.
If you weren't lucky enough to be there, watch this:
(and please do come along next time...)

WE ♥ PARAGLIDING!!!
Team OK GO! Got up super early on Sunday morning to host their first fun(d)raiser. After a power failure we managed to get to Dunnotar bright and early and bushy-tailed. We set up the stand and the day proceeded to fly-by (pun intended!). Here are some pics of the day in case you missed it.
We would like to thank Clive, Linda, Darren, Kyle, Nix, our sponsors, supporters and the whole paragliding community. We had the most amazing day!! When can we go again!?

WHO YA CALLIN' A MOTHERCUPPA?!
Team OK GO is super proud to announce our awesome new sponsor (and friends) at Motherland Coffee! Motherland has been somewhat of a local home and hangout for Team OK GO since the start of our planning for the great African adventure! So it's super cool that we find ourselves even closer and for an even better cause!
We love their free wifi, Mothercuppa cappucinos and blueberry &
white chocolate muffins. But we also love them cos they only serve 100%
Arabica, Fairtrade coffee from Africa, and are doing awesome stuff for
the continent in general. High fives all round! Team OK GO hopes to fufil their "You Are The Revolution" initiative, and are so happy to have them on board!
We are so super excited to announce that Motherland will be hosting our Charity Exhibition on 25 May,
International Africa Day! All proceeds will go to The Put Foot
Foundation, poster and details to follow soon! Local artists include Koos Groenewald and the guys at Says Who, and hopefully a live acoustic gig too! So keep an eye out and watch this space.
Find them in Rosebank The Zone Phase 2, close to the Firs and just round the corner from Tashas.
SPECIAL DELIVERY FROM VODACOM :)
Super chuffed! Look what arrived at Team OK GO! Headquarters today! We're excited to crack these babies open and see what they can do! Vodafone 858 Smart and Vodafone 555 Blue! Thanks to the awesome guys at Vodacom! Going to make keeping in touch a whole lot easier! #vodacomroaming #powertoyou!
BRAKPAN, BALLOONS, BUNNY SUITS AND BLISTER FEET
Today we got some good advice from our good friend Carly (and we totally agree with her latest blogpost too!). Note to Put Footers: pack plasters! Dani spent 3 days last week filming the new Toyota Etios TV Commercial in Heidelberg and Brakpan. She got blisters. Apart from that, was super nice to get a little better aquainted with what will soon be Team OK GO!'s Toyota Put Foot Rally car. We should be receiving the car this month so keep an eye out on the roads! Post definitely to follow shortly!

RED IS RAD

Things are always more awesome when they come in twos. Like eggs. Or arms. Or vending machines that spit out two packets of Niknaks instead of one.
This week has been an awesome one for TEAM OK GO! We are super proud to announce (officially!) that we are backed by not one, but two super rockin' local companies! Welcome TOYOTA and VODACOM to the OK GO TEAM! We sure do hope to make you proud!
Red is rad. We heart it.

OUCHIE!!!!
Team OK GO! recently went to get their vaccinations because as Mommy Manda always says "prevention is better than cure!" The team met up one chilly Thursday morning with tentative smiles and nervous giggles... the form did not have enough space for all of the countries! The list of half dead viruses to be injected into us was as follows: Yellow fever, typhoid, tetanus, hepatitus A and meningitis. A few things were discovered during this eventful trip: Dani is a not a friend of injections, Kat is OK as long as someone else freaks out and Amanda has masochist tendencies as seen by the images below.

WE HAVE COOL FRIENDS
So sometimes you get to have some really cool friends who are really awesome and cool and can do very clever things. We have these friends. This makes us extra cool. And this is what they did for us. They're awesome. (He's awesome.) And we owe him a rare steak dinner. Read his clever blog musings and arb rantingness here. He thinks too much. We love him anyway.

Hooray! Checkpoints were recently released and that made us happy. So we all kinda sat down and took a look at them and started to mark off a bit of a map. Which is what you see here. It sure is lovely. Still early days, but gives us a nice feel for how we will be spending our mileage :) Looking forward to receiving more info about checkpoints! (Hint) Current trip looks roughly like this:20 June - SOUTH AFRICA
22 June - NAMIBIA (Etosha & Caprivi)
25 June - ZAMBIA (Kariba & Chipata)
29 June - ZIMBABWE
02 July - MALAWI
03 July - MOZAMBIQUE (Tete & Vilankulos)

INFORMATION GATHERING
Hello Everyone!
Its been a while since we decided to post on our blog. But fear not!! As we have been very busy behind the scenes with all sorts of meetings. Recently Kat and Amanda headed out to the AA at Benmore shopping centre for some little help from the guys there. George (below) was great help! He printed out a nice neat little bundle of paper that included EVERYTHING we need to know for border crossings, visa's, vaccinations and changing money! Thanks George, you are a star!
Dani and Kat were sad to see that it was best to get a yellow fever vaccination. Amanda laughed but then assured them that it doesn't hurt! (She already has one) Tetanus and Hepatitus vaccinations are also on the cards... Time to plan a trip to the travel clinic soon!
We are getting closer each day and our excitement levels are rising!!
